UPPSALA, Sweden, April 28, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Q-Med Interim Report:


 -- Turnover during the period amounted to SEK 198.0 (179.7) million,
    which is an increase of 10 percent.
 -- Operating income amounted to SEK -0.2 (-1.0) million.
 -- Net income after tax amounted to SEK 3.5 (3.3) million.
 -- Earnings per share were SEK 0.14 (0.13).
 -- The patent dispute in the USA has been discontinued.
 -- Continued good growth within the Hospital Healthcare product
    area, 50 percent.

Q-Med is a rapidly growing and profitable biotechnology/medical device company that develops, produces and markets medical implants. All products are based on the company's patented NASHA technology - Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. The products covered by the RESTYLANE trademark are used for the filling out of lips and facial wrinkles and for facial contouring and today account for the majority of sales. ZUIDEX for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence in women has been sold in Europe since July 2002. Q-Med today has approximately 550 employees, with approximately 350 at the company's production facility and head office in Uppsala.
