Spirits are Lifted With the Monday Night Gospel Celebration at Great Plaza

PHILADELPHIA, Pa., April 28, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Raise your spirit and your voice at Penn's Landing for the fourth annual Monday Night Gospel Celebration! Partnering with WDAS AM, WDAS FM and Power 99 FM, Penn's Landing brings the inspiring sounds of Gospel music to the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing located on Columbus Boulevard at Chestnut Street. With this free concert series, four very different acts will perform and fill the cool summer night air every Monday night through the month of June with their God given talents, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The series will begin on Monday, June 6 with The Church of Christian Compassion's gospel choir called Unity. This tremendous 60-person choir is made up family, friends and fellow members of the church. Reverend Lonnie Herndon, of the Church of Christian Compassion, describes the performance to be given by Unity as "electrifying, spirit-filled and will touch the heart of every listener." He also says their style reaches all ages through contemporary gospel to borderline hip hop. Unity is now working on their first album, due out later this year. Find out more about them at www.christcompassion.com.

"The music ministry of Henry Hall will immediately transport you into the presence of God," says a longtime fan. On Monday, June 13, experience the powerful sounds of Philadelphia native Minister Henry A. Hall and New Dimensions of Worship. Their style is definitely full of praise and worship with a gospel R&B flavor to it. Check out their new album, "A New Sound," released in January 2005.

On Monday, June 20 The Bright Hope Baptist Church Celestial Choir directed by Donald Dumpson will take the stage. Dumpson has taken the Bright Hope Celestial Choir from the church sanctuary to television and Broadway. This performance will encompass the worlds of classical, jazz, pop, gospel music and their performance practices.

Minister Chris Graham and Exalted Praise will draw the series to a close on Monday, June 27 with their pulsating and energetic choir vocals. Minister Chris Graham, a Jam on the River performer for about seven years, will be leading the traveling Tri-State area sensation. Graham promises with high expectations that fans of all ages will be brought their feet and up toward the Lord with traditional hymns to contemporary gospel music.
