Participants Needed: Stroll 'n Roll at Spruce Run


FLEMINGTON, N.J., May 3, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Attention all walkers and wheelers! On Sunday, May 15, the Spina Bifida Association of the Tri-State Region (SBATSR) will hold their 2nd Annual Stroll 'n Roll for Spina Bifida at Spruce Run Recreation Area in Clinton. All proceeds from the Stroll 'n Roll will go to providing services for children, adults and families living with spina bifida, as well as continuing to educate the public on the prevention of spina bifida. Kitchen Expo of New Jersey is the premier sponsor of the event.

Participants will walk and wheel on the 2-mile mostly flat ADA-approved course with gentle hills along scenic park roads and the reservoir.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 11:00 a.m. Pre-registration is $15 for individuals 12 and over by April 29 ($20 after April 29); $5 for Children ages 3-11. All participants are asked to raise pledges for the event. Prizes will be awarded to individuals with the most pledges raised. There will be drawings for other great prizes as well!

To make this event a success, sponsors for the event include Premier Sponsor Kitchen Expo (coming to Flemington in June 2005), and Silver Sponsors ($500): ShopRite of Hunterdon, ePrint, and Applebees.

Food will be provided by Shop Rite of Hunterdon and Readington Farms. Included at the event will be a visit from the Somerset Patriots' mascot, "Sparkee" and the Stroll 'n Roll's mascot Kangaroo! Music for the event will be provided by Beating Hearts' DJ Shar (aka Sharon Hoffman).
