Control Module Adds Wireless Functionality and Four-Inch Graphic Display to its Genus Terminals

Increased Capabilities and Ease of Deployment Using Industry's Only Java Programmable Terminal

ENFIELD, Conn., May 3, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Control Module Inc. (CMI), the leading workforce management technology provider, today announced additional functionality for its revolutionary Java programmable Genus terminal, including wireless connectivity options and larger graphic display screen for enhanced employee self-service.

With a four-inch graphic screen, employee self-service is extremely user-friendly and provides employees with access to their personnel information, including results of their shifts, vacation schedules, work orders, 401K status and company medical benefits forms -- all with a secure, reliable, networked device. The ability to view and make changes to personnel information helps to increase human resource staff productivity and reduce the burden on supervisory personnel, especially at companies in which each employee does not have an individual workstation.

"It has always been Control Module's goal to innovate the workforce management category in order to provide our customers with the technology they need to best utilize their employees and cut payroll costs," said Jimmy Bianco, Executive Vice President, Control Module. "Control Module's workforce management technology has helped companies in the retail, entertainment, hospitality, transportation and manufacturing industries, among others, work more efficiently with their employees, track start and stop times, enable secure access control to their facilities and ensure accurate employee compensation; providing significant cost-cutting and a valuable return on their investment."

Control Module is the first and only workforce management technology provider to offer a Java-programmable terminal, enabling customers to quickly and easily build custom applications based on this open architecture. Companies can also tie Control Module terminals to multiple backend systems, including scheduling, payroll and time & attendance.

In addition, Genus terminals can now be connected to a company's systems using the 802.11 wireless access standards. As organizations look to upgrade their technology systems, it becomes difficult and costly to string new wires throughout their facilities. Expanded wireless connectivity increases customer options to provide the most flexible and cost-effective workforce management terminals, with the greatest ROI available on the market today.
