MCLEAN, Va., May 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Eric Howell vice president, contracts, pricing and procurement for the company's Information Technology sector.

In this role, Howell manages and provides policy direction for the sector's contracts, pricing and procurement functions. In addition, he manages proposal reviews, coordinates contract-related activities and oversees the e-procurement system. He reviews and approves all contractual documents to ensure that the company satisfies customer specifications and requirements. Howell reports to Mark Gagen, the sector's vice president and chief financial officer.

"Eric brings to this role broad experience serving Northrop Grumman," said Gagen. "The company will benefit from his strong knowledge and skills in the legal and contracts fields."

Most recently, Howell was director of contracts and pricing at Northrop Grumman's corporate office in Los Angeles and was previously senior corporate counsel for contracts and major programs for Northrop Grumman.

Prior to returning to Northrop Grumman, Howell was vice president, law-sales and marketing at Gateway, Inc. Before joining Gateway, he was a member of the Northrop Grumman law department for 17 years.

Howell earned a bachelor's degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a juris doctor degree from the University of Chicago. He served 11 years in the Air Force, attaining the rank of major.
