COSTA MESA, Calif., May 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- The CDMA Development Group (CDG) (www.cdg.org) today congratulated Midwest Wireless on the deployment of its CDMA2000(r) 1xEV-DO network and on becoming the first carrier in Minnesota to offer mobile high-speed Internet services. With CDMA2000 1xEV-DO, the carrier will be able to offer instant "always-on" broadband services to its subscribers at home, in the office and while on the go.

CDMA2000 1xEV-DO is a data-optimized evolution of CDMA2000 that provides average data speeds of 300-600 kbps up to 2.4 Mbps at a lower cost per bit than any other 3G technology available today. There are 22 commercial CDMA2000 1xEV-DO networks in 16 countries across all continents and 19 are in deployment. More than 14 million subscribers use CDMA2000 1xEV-DO services today and this number will grow to 120 million by 2008.
