GB&T Bancshares Re-Elects Board for One-Year Term


GAINESVILLE, Ga., May 19, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- On May 17, 2005, GB&T Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq:GBTB) held their Annual Meeting where shareholders re-elected the Board of Directors for a one-year term. Newly elected to the Board were John E. Mansour, Chairman of First National Bank of Gwinnett and L.S. (Casey) Cagle, Advisory Board Chairman for Southern Heritage Bank, a Division of Gainesville Bank & Trust.

Mansour is the President of Berkeley Enterprises, Inc., and is an investor or partner in several other business ventures. Cagle is the owner and President of Casey Cagle Properties, LLC and a Georgia State Senator for the 49th District.

Other nominees re-elected to the Board of Directors for a one-year term were: Philip A. Wilheit, Richard A. Hunt, Samuel L. Oliver, Alan A. Wayne; Larry B. Boggs, Dr. John W. Darden, William A. Foster, III, Bennie E. Hewett, James L. Lester, Dr. T. Alan Maxwell, and James H. Moore.
