LXE Continues to Roll With The Industry's Most Robust Line of Vehicle-Mounted Computers

ATLANTA, May 23, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- LXE, the market-share leader for rugged vehicle-mounted computers used in supply chain execution applications, recently achieved its 10th consecutive year-over-year record quarter. A key component of this success has been the significant growth in sales of LXE's rugged vehicle-mount computers, which in the first quarter increased 42% over vehicle-mount sales volume for the same period in 2004.

Much of this growth can be attributed to LXE's recently released VX5, VX6 and VX7 rugged vehicle-mounted computers. The fully rugged, full-screen VX5 comes with a Pentium III processor, making it one of the most powerful vehicle-mount computers in its class. LXE's rugged, half-screen VX6 and full-screen VX7 vehicle-mount computers ship with the versatile Microsoft(r) Windows(r) CE .NET operating system, enabling customers to easily run their CE .NET applications on both their handheld and vehicle-mount computers, greatly reducing user training and support costs. Sales of these units have significantly exceeded initial projections. "Strong customer relationships provide key feedback allowing LXE to engineer solutions tailored to market demands," stated Bill Roeder, LXE's senior VP of Product Development & deputy GM. "The proof is in the increased sales: Continuous product enhancements keep LXE vehicle-mounted computers positioned at the market's front."

LXE recently announced an important additional step to further strengthen its line of vehicle-mounted terminals -- it is working with Intel and Sirit to produce robust, forklift-mounted RFID data collection solutions for use in warehousing and distribution. "The prospects for our vehicle-mounted RFID reader are significant," says Peter Fausel, LXE's senior VP of Sales & Marketing. "The primary feedback from the key customers that have seen our prototype is, 'When will it be ready?'"

Prototype units are being tested at a key customer's facility, with full production expected later this year.
