ATA Airlines' Big Apple Sale Lets You Take a Take a Bite out of New York Without Taking a Bite out of your Wallet

Fifteen Nonstops Every Business Day to New York on ATA Make the Going Great!

INDIANAPOLIS, May 23, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- ATA Airlines, Inc., subsidiary of parent company ATA Holdings Corp. (Pink Sheets:ATAHQ), announces its "Big Apple Sale" with fares as low as $89(a) off-peak, each way from Chicago-Midway to New York (LGA) or Newark. Tickets may either be purchased on ata.com or by calling ATA reservations at 1-800-IFLYATA. The tickets require a seven-day advance purchase, and travel must be completed by October 28, 2005. The sale begins on May 23 and tickets must be purchased by May 31, 2005, at Midnight EDT.

"From Chicago, one of the easiest ways to get to New York is on one of ATA's 15 daily nonstop departures," said John Denison, ATA's CEO. "During our `Big Apple Sale,' you'll also be able to earn double bonus points on our Travel Rewards Program."

Registered Travel Awards members who book a trip on ata.com from Chicago to New York (LGA) or Newark during the sale will receive double Travel Award points for the trip. ATA awards a free companion awards(b) for only 3,000 travel points, and the Chicago to New York or Newark flight earns members 2,000 points.

Denison added, "We are seeing increased business travel to New York as we head into the busy summer season. For travelers who need to get to New York at the last minute, ATA offers walk-up fares of $199(a), a remarkable value for those who must travel on short notice."

Economists report business travel to New York is booming and is reaching the pre-1999 levels. Those who want to go to the Big Apple just for fun, however, have a variety of excuses to take a bite out of New York, including:

-- Chicago Cubs play the New York Yankees in New York on
    June 17-19
-- Belmont Stakes on June 11
 -- U.S. Open Tennis Championships from August 29-September 11
-- Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks
-- Chicago White Sox play the New York Yankees in New York on
    August 12-14

With ATA's great fares and schedules, Chicagoans can just get up and go.
