EMS SATCOM Broadens Tracking and Management Systems Marketing Efforts, Opens Office In Monterrey, Mexico

OTTAWA, Canada and MONTERREY, Mexico, May 25, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS SATCOM, a division of EMS Technologies (Nasdaq:ELMG), opened its Monterrey, Mexico office today. The new office is part of EMS SATCOM's expansion to serve its growing Latin American customers.

The office will be the headquarters for Latin American sales operations, dedicated to serving clients in Mexico, Venezuela, Guatemala and a number of other countries. A major focus of the sales efforts from this office will be the eNcompass PDT (packet data terminal), a rugged, light-weight and low-maintenance satellite terminal that provides real-time, two-way messaging, as well as automatic vehicle location. It is ideal for monitoring high-value cargo shipments, and is also well-suited to maintenance of high-capital-cost equipment. The Monterrey sales office will also offer EMS SATCOM's Storm terminal, a light-weight Inmarsat-based antenna and telephone in one.

"The opening of this office, and our expansion into the Latin American market, are important parts of our efforts to see our Tracking and Management Systems business grow," said Dr. Neil Mackay, senior vice president and general manager, EMS SATCOM. "Mexican, and indeed Latin American, businesses are looking to track and manage high-value truck-based shipments, and we are focused on not only providing cost-effective solutions, but also on working with new partners to bring innovative ideas and solutions to the market."
