We are Traders.
In fact, we are even speculators. If you bought gold stocks at the open today you were a speculator, not an investor. So, next time you are at a dinner party and people ask what you do tell them you are a Market Speculator. You will get looks of bewilderment! It is really quite a lot of fun. I do it sometimes in fact. Then they just might seek the advice of the "Investor" who has his money in "safe" blue chips and just watches them go down slowly every year. He probably owns Wal-Mart stock because it's a "safe investment", while we were telling you to sell Wal-Mart in December.
A trader acts on information and instinct and isn't afraid to take profits or small losses, because he knows that when he's right he's REALLY right. Traders don't move with the herd, they anticipate the herd's moves and they make the first move. And when you're REALLY right, you can make a lot of money.
Because if you're not at the front of the herd, the view is always the same.
