LOS ANGELES, May 25, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) officials are forecasting this summer's travel season from Memorial Day through Labor Day to be the busiest since the record-breaking summer of 2001 for both Los Angeles International (LAX) and Ontario International (ONT) Airports. To facilitate passengers through what are expected to be crowded terminals and roadways, officials will offer new "Insiders' Smart Travel Tips" gathered from veteran travelers that passengers can follow to make their airport experience a pleasant one.
WHAT: News conference to describe summer and Memorial Day weekend passenger traffic estimates at LAX and ONT, new Smart Traveler Tips, new developments at LAX, new developments in passenger and checked-luggage security screening, information on what can and cannot be brought into the U.S. from overseas. Immediately following the news conference, media will walk to Terminal 1 to film B-roll and take photos of the new Explosive Trace Portal ("puff portal") machine used for secondary passenger screening.
