 StockPickReport Commentary

Lately I have been reading the BBC European news at: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/default.stm

There was a major headline today that is of great importance: "Giant Caspian Oil Pipeline Opens". Did you know that in Baku, on the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan, is one of the biggest reserves in the world? U.K. ex-pats are quoted as saying "We live like kings here." (quoted from "Adventure Capitalist" by Jim Rogers). Here is a quote from the article: "Oil is set to flow from the Caspian Sea direct to the Mediterranean for the first time after a $3.6bn (2bn) pipeline opened on Wednesday. Starting in Azerbaijan, the 1,600km (1,000 mile) pipeline will pass through Georgia to the Turkish port of Ceyhan."

All we ever seem to get from U.S. news sources is talk about the Middle East. Some European news can give you a different perspective. This is major news -- a non-middle-east, non-Russian source of oil, straight to the Mediterranean.

To me, this is much more exciting news than crude oil inventories in the U.S.
