After The Bell Market Commentary
On Friday, crude oil prices rose to settle at $51.85 a barrel but a growth in personal income helped nudge the markets to close modestly higher before the Memorial Day weekend, wrapping up a week of solid gains. Investor confidence in the economy returned after a number of positive reports. The Dow rose 4.95 points to close at 10,542.55. The Nasdaq rose 4 points to close at 2,075. The S&P 500 moved up 1 point to 1,198.75. The Russell 2000 added 2 points to end at 617.
