Tech Electronic Services will distribute EMS SATCOM's eNcompass PDT (packet data terminal) to its 5,000 satellite dealers in North America. The eNcompass PDT is a small, light-weight, all-in-one, low-maintenance, satellite communications device with built-in GPS that gives users the ability to access two-way, real-time messaging and vehicle location services. When combined with Tech Electronic Services' e-mail solution, it offers optional vehicle location data from any Internet browser, providing peace of mind for travelers exploring remote regions, aw well as for their friends, colleagues and family at home. Unlike alternative Satcom communication systems for which the vehicle must be stationary to allow the antenna first to deploy and then transmit, the PDT allows users to communicate while the vehicle is in motion. As a lower cost solution, the PDT is well-suited to recreational vehicles, pleasure boats and cottages. It is portable so it can be installed on virtually any type of vehicle, ranging from motor homes and trailers, to boats and busses.
