WHAT: Rollin' 4 the Kids Truck Show and Concert
WHERE: The Fender Center for the Performing Arts in Corona
WHEN: Sunday, June 12 noon to 5 p.m.

Hot music and hot wheels will be the order of the day at the second Rollin' 4 the Kids Truck Show and Concert, a free, fun-packed family event to be held at The Fender Center for the Performing Arts in Corona on Sunday, June 12.

The 5-hour event will feature an exhibition of more than 100 of the hottest cars, trucks and motorcycles from all around Southern California and a variety of live entertainment, including celebrity guests and bands from all over Southern California.

"What better way to spend a day than listening to musicians and singers of the future and getting a close up look at some of the coolest vehicles around," said Danny Verdugo, president of the Fender Foundation, which owns and operates the Fender Center. "It will be an afternoon filled with stars, cars and guitars with proceeds from the event going to scholarships so we can provide free and low-cost music education to hundreds of deserving and talented kids."

Entry fees from the truck show, donations from key sponsors and proceeds from raffles all benefit Kids Rock Free, an innovative Fender Center program that provides free and low-cost music education to an estimated 400 children a week.

The afternoon will feature a band headed by singer/songwriter James Chiello that includes guitar player and actress Margo Harshman from Disney Channel's Even Stevens, and drummer Michael Welch from CBS's Joan of Arcadia. Other performers are Toe Head, an alternative rock band from Orange County that won a Fender national talent search, the Kids Rock Free Band, the Woodie Johnson Band made up of Fender employees and Jump Start, a collection of musicians from Fender's world famous Custom Shop.

Speedvision will be on hand to film the day's activities, which will include an appearance by Xtreme Lee, the ultimate 1970 Dodge Charger muscle car that has its roots in the Dukes of Hazard TV show.

During the day, CDs, records, aftermarket goodies and guitars will be raffled off. Eventgoers also will have an opportunity win a 2005 Lincoln Navigator donated by Alvarez Lincoln Mercury dealership in Riverside. Only 5,000 $25 tickets will be sold.

Sponsors include Ten Magazine, Linda Wilson from Countrywide Home Loans, Hemborg Ford Norco, Vengeance Motorcycles and Speed & Chrome Illustrated.

Founded in 1997, the Fender Center for the Performing Arts has provided low-cost music education to more than 8,500 children aged 7-17. Located at 365 N. Main Street, two blocks north of the Main Street exit on the 91 Freeway, the center includes a world class museum and educational facilties that celebrate the performing arts.
