Janoff (based in Santa Barbara) has over 23 years of experience working with graduate level, adult learners in five different academic institutions and previous experience as Director of a Masters program in psychology. Since 1983 he has maintained a private practice as a clinical psychologist/consultant. His wide range of professional expertise extends from treating anxiety disorders, to running groups for impaired health and legal professionals, to consulting with organizations and executive coaching.

Janoff began as Fielding faculty in 1995 with the Group Psychotherapy post-graduate training program. He co-authored an article on their blended model of face-to-face and computed-mediated professional training in group psychotherapy -- a first for the profession. In 1998, he joined the Masters' faculty in the Organizational Management and Organizational Development program (OMOD). "I immediately realized the vision and brilliance of the program's founders and faculty responsible for our unique and rich approach to organizational management and development." His own research and teaching interests include: online professional collaboration, self-organizing systems, group process/team dynamics, applied intervention strategies in OD, and large-scale change projects -- "tipping the tipping point." Janoff's clinical work keeps his writing and teaching grounded in real-world applications.

"His previous experience with the OMOD program and the respect he has with faculty and students alike will be a great asset as he provides direction, leadership and oversight of Master's programs in the School of Human and Organizational Development," comments McClintock.

Janoff's prior publications include: essential skills for professional online consultation, web-based professional training, consultation and collaboration in healthcare, a model for computer mediated group training at a distance, and the attributions and maintenance of behavior change. His has presented at international, national and regional conferences on these and many other topics over the course of his career.

"As Fielding ranks high among the programs in organizational management, development and distributed learning we are thrilled Dr. Janoff accepted this position.
