A Study Conducted by Quixel Research, LLC, Reports Maxent MX-26X3 26-Inch 16:9 WXGA LCD Television Was the Fourth Best Selling LCD Television Nationwide in Q1 2005 and Was the Only 16:9 Format Television to Make the List

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., June 6, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Maxent, a leading provider of value-priced flat-panel display solutions for consumers, today announced the results of a census report by Quixel Research, LLC, that revealed the Maxent MX-26X3 26-inch 16:9 WXGA LCD Television was the fourth best selling unit nationwide in Q1 2005. In addition, the report found that the Maxent MX-26X3 was the only widescreen television to make it into the top five best seller list.

According to a Q4 2004 LCDTV Market Review, Quixel Research Principal Analyst Tamaryn Pratt reported a 130 percent year to year growth in both value and units shipped in the LCDTV category. Quixel Research projects sales in the LCDTV market to surpass $9B by 2008 with forecasts of more than quadruple revenues over the next four years.

"The 26-inch LCDTV screen size segment is going to be one of the largest gainers in 2005," Pratt explained. "The results of the Q1 2005 census report showed that the Maxent MX-26X3 was the only widescreen television to make the top five list revealing that Maxent is currently driving the market for value priced 16x9 models."

"As evidenced by the Quixel census report, Maxent is successfully driving the mainstream adoption of flat panel televisions by the consumer market through our popular line of affordable high-quality, value-packed, high performance LCD and plasma televisions," explained Brian Ballard, VP of Maxent USA. "To drive sales and ensure success in this highly-competitive sector, a manufacturer needs to deliver more than just low price. In addition to strong distribution channels, we're seeing a growing amount of our sales being driven by word-of-mouth - by consumers who are purchasing Maxent products based increasingly upon its reputation for value, performance and reliability."
