Nishi Named Assistant Vice President, Supply Chain Management at SYSCO Corporation


HOUSTON, June 6, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced today that Masao Nishi has been named assistant vice president, supply chain management. Mr. Nishi, who currently serves as senior director, supply chain services, will assume his new role on July 3, 2005, the start of SYSCO's fiscal year 2006.

Mr. Nishi, 58, joined SYSCO in 2003 as director of supply chain development and was named to his current position in July 2004. Prior to joining SYSCO he held a variety of management positions with firms including Leaseway Transportation, Manugistics, Sabre Group and KPMG Consulting. Mr. Nishi is a graduate of Washington University (St. Louis, Missouri), where he earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering in 1969 and a master of business administration degree in 1974. He and his wife, Wendy, have two adult children and reside in Houston.
