The Gas Company Completes Restoration of Gas Service for Customers Affected by Laguna Beach Landslide


LOS ANGELES, June 6, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Southern California Gas Co. (The Gas Company) crews worked overtime in the area of the Laguna Beach landslide to restore natural gas service to all occupied customer homes ahead of schedule.

The utility completed 98 percent of restorations June 4 to the 281 homes that were not destroyed or red-tagged. The company expects to restore service shortly to seven remaining habitable homes whose owners have requested a delay in gas service restoration.

"We know this has been a trying time for many of our customers, especially the ones who endured outages, and we greatly appreciate their patience," said Hal Snyder, vice president of gas distribution for The Gas Company.
