QLogic to Open Fulfillment Center in EMEA

Company's Presence in Ireland Expected to Dramatically Accelerate Order Fulfillment

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., June 7, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- QLogic Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), the company that powers storage area networks (SANs), today announced that it will establish operations near Dublin, Ireland as an integral part of the QLogic Global Supply Chain Program. The center will deliver customer-specific "configure-on-demand" services, regionally based customer support, order fulfillment services, and reverse logistics to enhance fulfillment of demand from OEM and reseller customers for QLogic HBAs, switches and ASICs in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

The 20,000-square-foot facility is based in Blanchardstown, a suburb of Dublin, and is expected to employ up to 100 professionals over the next five years. QLogic has also contracted with several multi-national freight forwarders and transportation service providers to optimize the velocity of product delivery in EMEA.

"QLogic is a welcome addition to the growing cluster of storage industry companies in Ireland," said Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheal Martin T.D. "The decision to locate its EMEA headquarters here is a powerful endorsement of Ireland's ability to support leading-edge, knowledge-intensive activities and to provide the people required for such high level activities. IDA Ireland worked closely with the company in assisting them in their decision to locate in Ireland and the employment it will offer will provide excellent opportunities for the skilled people of Dublin."

QLogic's Global Supply Chain Program is designed to reduce delivery lead times by fulfilling orders from within the region, shortening OEM and reseller customers' supply chain cycles. Closer proximity to customers also enables QLogic to provide more accessible back-end support.

"When customers submit orders, or trigger demand, we'll be able to configure on demand and fulfill upside orders in a matter of days or even hours, instead of weeks," said Shane Creegan, director of Irish Operations, QLogic Ireland. "We'll be able to turn on a dime and help our customers react more quickly to changing market demands and execute on business opportunities without delay."
