Plasticon Announces Engineering Breakthrough Which Reduces Material Costs of Lower Height Rebar Supports By Over 20 Percent

Innovative New Blend of Polypropylene Lowers Output Costs and Increases Plasticon's Competitive Advantage

LEXINGTON, Ky., June 7, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Plasticon International Inc. (Pink Sheets:PLNI) today announced that the company has created a new blend of polypropylene, which reduces the material costs of one of the company's major product lines: lower height recycled plastic rebar supports.

"Cost-effectiveness is one of our key advantages over our competitors," said Mr. Jim Turek, President and CEO of Plasticon International. "We offer the most innovative, durable, dependable rebar support products to our customers at an incredible price point. Our reengineered polypropylene blend allows us to continue to offer those advantages to our customers and to realize greater profits as well."

The new polypropylene blend is one of a series of recently unveiled Plasticon innovations. The company announced several weeks ago that they had procured a revolutionary slab bolster mold, which increases production capacity by 600 percent, a quantum leap in recycled plastic manufacturing technology. "We certainly take pride in the fact that we continue to be the technology leader in our industry. That has and always will be our positioning within our sector," Mr. Turek said. "Our new polypropylene blend gives us a tremendous advantage, widens the gap even more between Plasticon and its competitors, and puts us light years ahead of the competition in terms of our production efficiencies."
