SkyLynx Communications Expands Wireless Data Network Coverage to Salem, Oregon

SARASOTA, Fla., June 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SkyLynx Communications, Inc. (OTCBB:SKYC), announced the expansion of its wireless data network into the Salem, Oregon market, having received a contract for communications services from one of the major local ambulance service providers. The SkyLynx system improves emergency call response time and can provide more effective use of customer assets.

Salem is the third metropolitan region to utilize SkyLynx' unique vehicle tracking and data communications services. The Company is currently operating its network in the greater Seattle/Tacoma and the Denver/Aurora markets. SkyLynx currently provides them with vehicle location and status information linked directly into their Computer Aided Dispatch Center in Seattle and Denver. Negotiations are currently underway to bring the SkyLynx advantage to a fourth major urban area located in the southeastern U.S.

SkyLynx Chairman and CEO, Gary L. Brown, commented, "We are very pleased with the increased commitment to SkyLynx. This Phoenix-based customer is technology-savvy and has carefully researched all available options for their vehicle tracking and data communications. Selecting SkyLynx confirms the fact that we are quickly becoming an industry leader, providing wireless data communications to First Responders. The SkyLynx wireless data network is also well-suited for use in less critical applications such as fleet operators, contractors as well as for industrial monitoring and control. We look forward to the continued expansion of our network coverage along with building these key long term relationships with our customers."

He added, "In addition to ambulance services, police and firefighting units can benefit from SkyLynx communications packages, and the potential market for us is immense. For example, there are 312,000 police patrol cars operating in the United States when reviewing fleets of 10 or more cars. There are about 80,000 fire trucks in the country serving 30,562 fire departments. We believe that police and fire departments will see benefits of automatic vehicle location (AVL) through improved response time, more efficient deployment of response groups, tracking moving vehicles to accident scenes, and non-public secure data communications."

Brown concluded, "Beyond emergency services, SkyLynx has numerous potential market applications. For example, there are approximately 75,000 active transit buses operated by 2,262 public transit agencies and 13,000 coaches in private hands. In addition, there are 171,000 taxis operating in the U.S. operated by some 63,000 companies. More than 80% of the companies operate less than 50 vehicles, while 6% have greater than 100 vehicles. There are over 435,000 buses that take approximately 23.5 million children to and from school, representing 55% of the K-12 population. And finally, there are about 4.2 million trucks in the U.S. Here, AVL provides customers with accurate arrival time, provides real-time routing instructions to drivers, dispatches buses to make nearby stops for paratransit operators; and monitors and records the performance of drivers."
