Imagis Selected By U.S. Homeland Security

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Imagis Technologies Inc. ("Imagis") (OTCBB:IMTIF) TSX-V:WSI) (DE:IGYA) announced today that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has procured software licenses for the company's flagship integration toolkit and servers, the Briyante Integration Environment. The purchase order, for an amount in excess of Cdn$350,000, was received on behalf of the DHS Metadata Center of Excellence.

Imagis software licenses will be delivered with consulting and training services and will be used to design and deploy a metadata (data describing data) repository and a federated query information sharing capability. The extensive competition to provide DHS with these capabilities included most of the major metadata repository vendors.

"This represents a tremendous opportunity for Imagis and we are delighted to be working with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security," said Roy Trivett, Imagis President and CEO. "Our products offer DHS the ability to rapidly solve their data sharing problems. It should be noted that this was not an easy piece of business to win as all vendors, including Imagis, viewed this opportunity as very strategic."

Imagis has proven its decentralized approach to secure, reliable, standards-based information sharing through a growing number of projects at the county and local level. Imagis' solutions do not require modifications to existing systems and overcome many of the technical and political barriers often associated with creating data integration and information sharing networks, namely data ownership, trust, and cost.

This is the firm's first project for the U.S. federal government, which selected Imagis for its ability to deliver both metadata and federated query technologies in a single-vendor solution. The project is to begin immediately.
