Enea Wins Breakthrough Order Within Broadband Applications

TABY, Sweden, June 20, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Enea has won a breakthrough order from World Wide Packets, an American company specialized on broadband equipment for telecom operators. The order concerns an application framework that controls delivery and handling of multimedia applications.

During the first quarter of 2005, Enea acquired the code-base for a new software product which enables companies to develop their products faster. The product is a high availability platform and provides a framework for application development. Enea's product is intended for the telecom/datacom infrastructure market and will be extensively launched in the coming fall.

The order from World Wide Packets is the first important order for Enea's new platform since the technology was acquired in mid March. The agreement runs for three years and the total order value amounts to SEK 6.5 m.

"It is very encouraging that we so soon after the acquisition have received a significant order in competition with international suppliers," says Johan Wall, CEO and President of Enea.

Enea's long-term ambition is to broaden its product range within embedded systems, a market which is characterised by strong growth, and the application framework is the latest example of the company's expansion within this area. The application framework development and marketing is managed from Enea's offices in Boston, MA, USA.

World Wide Packets develops and markets broadband equipment for telecom operators and builds its systems on real-time operating system OSE and the application development framework from Enea, thereby saving development costs.
