Alpha Center for Divorce Mediation Launches New Education Department

DOYLESTOWN, Pa., June 20, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Alpha Center for Divorce Mediation has launched a new Education Department offering courses for individuals, teachers and therapists. These courses cover the important issues surrounding divorce such as parenting, financial restructuring and new relationships as well as helping teachers and therapists to recognize the stress signs in children whose parents are divorcing and how they can help. The Alpha Center is also providing Lunch and Learn programs on site at local corporations.

"Divorce can be a confusing time as well as a time of vulnerability for couples and families," said Keila Gilbert, President of the Alpha Center. "Our courses will help remove that confusion and provide critical information so that both spouses are informed and can make better decisions. The first course offering for individuals is entitled, 'Marriage: Make It or Break It.' Continuing education courses will be offered for teachers, with the first class being 'Helping Teachers to Help Their Students During Divorce.'"

The Alpha Center is making these courses available beginning in the Fall 2005 because teachers and therapists are often the first professionals who see the effects of divorce on children. Additionally, Lunch and Learn workshops are being held at local corporations as part of the corporate human resources/benefits offerings made available to employees who often suffer productivity loss during marital strife. Specific site selections will be announced shortly and will take place either in one of the 10 Alpha Center offices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey or on site at the schools, therapist's offices or corporate centers.

The Alpha Center is a divorce mediation organization that provides experts at every level to help couples manage the process of divorce amicably and smartly: attorney mediators, therapists and financial professionals.
