Raising Money for Special Kids, The Detlef Schrempf Gala Auction and Celebrity Golf Classic to Benefit Families Battling HIV/AIDS and Homelessness

SEATTLE, June 21, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Detlef Schrempf Foundation's Twelfth Annual Golf Classic and Tenth Annual Gala Auction will do much more than challenge golfers and entertain Seattle's best and brightest. Behind the tee-shots and the glamour is the serious purpose of raising money. Each participating sponsor, golfer and guest is helping children and families in King County overcome some of our society's most difficult problems, specifically HIV/AIDS and homelessness.

The three-day, celebrity-packed event kicks off Saturday, June 25 at 5 p.m. at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel & Towers. The Golf Classic, a scramble format, starts at McCormick Woods in Port Orchard, Wash. on Sunday, June 26 at Noon and continues on Monday, June 27.

"Celebrities arrive early for the Golf Classic, so you never know who you'll run into at the Gala," said Detlef Schrempf, one of the Northwest's most charitable athletes and one of the region's finest basketball All-Stars. "We have a great line-up of athletes, stars and philanthropists this year and our auction items are nothing short of spectacular."

With over 450 items, the auction has something for everyone -- from travel to Africa, Mexico, Las Vegas, Hawaii and Europe, to autographed memorabilia from sporting greats including Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Andy Roddick, Joe Montana, Dan Wilson, Lenny Wilkens, Antionio Daniels, Jerome James, Hersey Hawkins, and Ichiro Suzuki. Spa and golf packages, wine, home decor, jewelry, art, and fine dining are all on the block. Some of the most exciting items are unique and exclusive to the Gala, including:

-- SpongeBob SquarePants and Fairly OddParents original cels and a
VIP Nickelodeon Tour. From Nickelodeon's vault and the creator's
private collection, the SpongeBob cel is signed by lead-voice
actors Tom Kenny (voice of SBSP) and Bill Fagerbakke (voice of
Patrick); the Fairly OddParents cel is signed by creator Butch
Hartman; and original SpongeBob sketches and books are signed by
Heather Martinez, author, illustrator and as some would say,
"SpongeBob's Mom." THEY DON'T MAKE THESE ANYMORE, and these
original artworks are not commercially available anywhere except
through the artist. A VIP tour of Nickelodeon Animation Studios,
for up to 20 avid SpongeBob Fans, will give guests the inside
scoop on the behind-the scenes workings at Nickelodeon.

character in the opening scene of this exciting PG movie.
Includes airfare for 2, full accommodations for at least three
nights on location in New Orleans, on-set meals, dining out,

Edison Hunting Club, a private reserve not available to the
public, with multiple duck blinds over an 80-acre area on Samish
Bay. Hunts will be hosted by a TOTE employee, experienced in duck
hunting at the Club. Preparing your meals over the 2-day stay, is
Chef Amadeus, one of Seattle's rising culinary stars.

Marshall Matt Dillon, including his autographed autobiography and
