Media Advisory -- On July 1, Wyland Ocean Challenge Tour to Make a Clean Sweep Through Seattle

SEATTLE, June 27, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- On Friday, July 1, marine life artist Wyland continues his campaign against water pollution with conservation education, painting, and science experiments at the Pacific Science Center. In partnership with local conservation groups, the artist has created "Water's Extreme Journey," a 1,000-square foot interactive maze that follows a clean drop of water through mountains, rivers, city streets, storm drains, into the ocean. The effort is part of a 5-year program to draw attention to the health of all major water systems throughout the nation. Last year, the foundation conducted a 17-state East Coast Cleanup Tour. The artist will also join children and adults to create a 600-square foot water-themed mosaic, and participate in clean water science experiments. The event will be preceded by a community beach cleanup at Alki Beach co-sponsored by the Surfrider Foundation.
