Rosencrance Named President and CEO of Sysco Food Services of Spokane

Sonnemaker Appointed Chairman of the Spokane Operating Company


HOUSTON, June 27, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced today that Layton R. Rosencrance has been named president and chief executive officer of Sysco Food Services of Spokane, a broadline foodservice distribution subsidiary located in Post Falls, Idaho. Mr. Rosencrance, who currently serves as general manager of that operation, will assume his new position effective July 3, 2005, the start of SYSCO's fiscal year 2006. He succeeds Scott A. Sonnemaker, who will become chairman of the Spokane operation and continue in his role as president and chief executive officer of SYSCO's Portland, Oregon operating company.

Mr. Rosencrance, 54, joined Sysco Food Services of Portland in 1995 as a SYSCO Brand manager for food service equipment and supplies. He was named district sales manager for healthcare the following year, progressed to director of program sales in 1998 and was appointed vice president of sales and marketing in 2001. He was promoted to his current position in 2004. Prior to joining SYSCO he served for 21 years in the food industry, including management positions with S.E. Rykoff, PYA/Monarch and ownership of his own food brokerage business.

Mr. Rosencrance is a 1972 graduate of Pennsylvania State University, where he received his bachelor of arts degree in American Studies. He and his wife, Tanya, have two grown children and reside in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
