Monzingo to Become Executive Vice President at Sysco Food Services of Central California, Inc.


HOUSTON, June 27, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced today that Suzi M. Monzingo has been promoted to executive vice president at Sysco Food Services of Central California, Inc., a broadline foodservice distribution subsidiary located in Modesto. Mrs. Monzingo, who currently serves as senior vice president of finance at that operation, will assume her new position effective July 3, 2005, the start of SYSCO's fiscal year 2006.

Mrs. Monzingo, 44, first joined the Modesto operation in 1993 as a staff accountant. In 1994 she was named accounting manager, progressed to controller in 1995 and the following year became director of finance. Mrs. Monzingo advanced to vice president of finance in 1997 and in 2003 she was promoted to her current position. She currently serves as an accounting and finance member of SYSCO's Functional Expert Committee (FEC) for Best Business Practices.

Mrs. Monzingo was born in Santa Ana, California and raised in Bakersfield. She earned her bachelors degree from the United States Air Force Academy in 1983 and in 1987 was awarded a masters degree in management from Troy State University. She and her husband, Mike, have a son and a daughter and reside in Oakdale, California.
