BRIELLE, N.J., June 29, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- On May 26, 2005 APLNow LLC purchased the assets of APL2000 Inc., a subsidiary of Cognos, the world leader in business intelligence and corporate performance management solutions. As part of the asset purchase agreement APLNow, LLC will provide on-going support for the APL-based software development environment at Cognos through March 2007.
APLNow LLC will maintain the exceptional service APL2000 customers have relied upon as it develops, distributes and supports APL software development language products for the Windows and Unix/Linux platforms on a worldwide basis. In particular the company will complete the development of APL+SantaFe, the .Net version of the APL software development environment, with anticipated full distribution in 2006. Several beta installations have already been established with favorable reviews and significant feedback.
Among the assets acquired by APLNow, LLC are the computer software development environments APL+Win, APL+Unix, APL+Linux, APL+WebServices, APL+Grid, APL+WebTransfer, APL+ComPlus, APL+WebComponent, APL+Interop, APL+SantaFe and Lightweight Array Engine, together with all associated hardware, software, domain names, and other assets and intellectual property.
The APL2000 network of distributors in Europe and the Americas will continue their roles in support of the APL software development language. The management team of Joe Blaze and Janice Vittes will join the current APL2000 staff of experienced computer software language development experts. APLNow, LLC, will maintain existing consulting agreements with APL2000 customers.
APLNow LLC, an employee-owned business, will retain the primary business address of One Research Court, Suite 140, Rockville MD 20850. APLNow LLC will do business as "APL2000."
