Microsemi Adds 200 Volt Schottkys to its Industry Leading High Voltage Rectifier Series

IRVINE, Calif., July 7, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq:MSCC), a leading manufacturer of high reliability semiconductors and high performance analog and mixed signal integrated circuits, has added 200 volt Schottky rectifiers to its family of high voltage devices that feature the industry's lowest forward voltage drop.

The new devices, available in current rating from 10 amps to 120 amps, expands Microsemi's high voltage Schottky portfolio that also includes offerings of 120 volt, 150 volt and 180 volt devices. All these devices are engineered to take advantage of a proprietary process that achieves the lowest reverse leakage available in the industry.

Microsemi's 200volt/80 amp Schottky in a D61 package is rated at 125 degrees C and has a reverse leakage one seventh that of an industry standard 80 amp device. This translates to a 13% drop in forward power dissipation at 25 degrees C and an 86% drop in reverse power dissipation at 125 degrees C. Microsemi's 200 volt devices have a forward voltage drop similar to conventional 100 volt devices.

The lower forward voltage drop and low reverse leakage of Microsemi's high voltage Schottky rectifiers result in cooler running devices. Power dissipation is 85% less than in an industry standard part. Microsemi also has the capability to custom target their Schottky barrier process to specific applications for minimum power losses while conforming to circuit limitations.

Microsemi's proprietary high voltage Schottky barrier devices are available in a wide range of standard packages that include the TO220, TO247, D61, and HalfPak. Also available upon request are CPT, SOT227, TO249, Mini-mod, TO244AB, Twin Tower, DO203AA, and DO203AB and Powermite(r), Powermite(r)3 and ThinKey(tm) packages.

Immediate delivery is available with prices in 10K lot quantities ranging from below $1.00 for 20 amp FST20200 devices to less than $10.00 for 80A 200 volt FST80200 rectifiers. Microsemi specializes in matching operating characteristics with circuit duty cycles to maximize device efficiency. Other current ratings are available upon request. Complete technical information on these and other power conditioning products is available on the Microsemi Corporation web site, http://www.microsemi.com.
