eWAN Exceeds Expectations By Lighting Up Second Downtown Los Angeles Internet WiMax Hotspot

SANTA ANA, Calif., July 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Following its first WiMax installation by only a few days, eWAN1, Inc. (Pink Sheets:EWAN) today "lights up" its second downtown Los Angeles "hotspot" at Casey's, a sought-after cafe and restaurant located at 613 S. Grand Los Angeles, CA, providing anyone in the area with today's standard PDAs, laptop computers, or Broadband-enabled hand-held telephones to access the Internet and all its functions via high-speed connection. Scott Kettle, eWAN's CTO, said their second WiMax location surpasses their expectations. Supplemental trials will be conducted in the coming months, which will include additional customers and more mature wireless technology than used in the initial trial. The new trials will include a substantially larger number of customers, spreading over several towers utilizing standard WiMax equipment.

WiMax 802.16 is last mile technology. eWAN 1, Inc. is testing the economic effectiveness of WiMax as an access internet access alternative. The provisioning time with WiMax technology is faster than that of traditional T-1 and DSL access and it supports a multitude of applications.

Scott Kettle, eWAN's Chief Technology Officer, noted the speed with which eWAN is rolling out new services and programs has resulted in the company receiving numerous inquiries from "hot spot" locations such as restaurants, cafes, clubs, and other well-attended gathering places throughout Los Angeles.
