Kimmich Appointed Assistant Vice President, BSCC Perishables at SYSCO Corporation


HOUSTON, July 14, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced today that Jeff A. Kimmich has been promoted to assistant vice president, Baugh Supply Chain Cooperative perishables. He currently serves as senior director, supplier adoption, and will assume his new responsibilities effective immediately.

Mr. Kimmich began his career at SYSCO in 1986 as a poultry merchandiser with Compton Foods, the predecessor company to Baugh Supply Chain Cooperative, SYSCO's merchandising organization. From 1996 to 2000 he held various department manager and director positions in SYSCO's beef, pork and poultry departments. In 2000, he was named senior director, beef, poultry and dairy and he assumed his current position in 2003.

Mr. Kimmich was born in St. Louis, Missouri and spent most of his life in Overland Park, Kansas. He earned a bachelor of science degree in animal science from Kansas State University in 1986. He and his wife, Joanne, have two sons and two daughters and live in Katy, Texas.
