Mignogna Promoted to Assistant Vice President, Quality Assurance at SYSCO Corporation


HOUSTON, July 14, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced today that Mark Mignogna has been appointed assistant vice president, quality assurance. He currently serves as director, quality assurance, and will assume his new responsibilities immediately.

Mr. Mignogna began his career at SYSCO in 1988 as manager, quality assurance. He was named senior manager, quality assurance in 1994 and advanced to the position he now holds in 1998. Before joining SYSCO he was employed in several managerial positions at a major food manufacturer from 1983 to 1988.

Mr. Mignogna was born and raised in the southern New Jersey suburbs of Philadelphia. In 1983 he received a bachelor of science in food science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He and his wife, Pamela, and their two daughters live in Houston.
