STOXX Ltd. Replaces Royal Dutch Petroleum and Shell Transportation & Trading in its European Indexes


ZURICH, July 15, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- STOXX Ltd. today announced changes in the composition of the Dow Jones STOXX 50, Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50, Dow Jones STOXX 600 and Dow Jones EURO STOXX indexes and its respective Sector, Style and Size indexes.

Effective with the open of European markets on July 20, 2005 France Telecom (France; Telecommunications) will replace Shell Transportation & Trading and Royal Dutch Shell "A" will replace Royal Dutch Petroleum in the Dow Jones STOXX 50 Index. Effective the same day Renault (France; Automobiles & Parts) will replace Royal Dutch Petroleum in the Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50 Index.

Rheinmetall (Germany, Automobiles & Parts) will replace Shell Transportation & Trading and Royal Dutch Shell "A" will replace Royal Dutch Petroleum in the Dow Jones STOXX 600 while Rheinmetall replaces Royal Dutch Petroleum in the Dow Jones EURO STOXX Index.

The changes are being made due to the unification of Royal Dutch Petroleum and Shell Transport & Trading. As the new unified stock is headquartered with its primary listing at the London Stock Exchange pricing for both Royal Dutch Shell "A" and "B" classes will be taken from the London Stock Exchange.
