QLogic Introduces Five-Year Warranty Based on Greater Than 1.7 Million Hour Mean Time Between Failure

Leading Reliability Drives SANblade Fibre Channel HBA Market Share Leadership

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., July 19, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- QLogic(r) Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), the leader in Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs), today announced a five-year warranty for the most popular models in its SAN Pro(tm) line of SANblade HBAs sold through authorized QLogic channel partners. The extended warranty is based on field-proven reliability that is more than 100 percent better than the primary competitor. Customers benefit from the five-year warranty by activating a free two-year extension to the standard three-year warranty. The five-year warranty will apply to new sales of select 2Gb models and later this year to 4Gb HBAs when they become available from authorized QLogic channel partners.

QLogic SANblade: The Most Reliable Fibre Channel HBAs

SANblade 2300 Series HBAs have achieved an observed Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of greater than 1,700,000 hours, making them 100 percent more reliable than the 824 thousand hours MTBF for the primary competitor.

"For small, medium and large businesses alike, reliability is the most important feature of a Fibre Channel HBA," said Frank Berry, vice president of marketing, QLogic Corp. "We believe our market share leadership is based on a foundation of leading reliability."
