Northrop Grumman Showcases GeoEnterprise Solutions at ESRI International User Conference

SAN DIEGO, July 22, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) will highlight its suite of GeoEnterprise Solutions(TM) including geospatial intelligence applications, architectures and enterprise-wide solutions this week at the 25th Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) International User Conference.

The exposition will be held July 25-29 at the San Diego Convention Center.

Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will showcase its Tracking Solutions software suite for monitoring time, motion and change for geospatial information sharing in military, homeland security, commercial and state and local scenarios. In conjunction with ESRI, Northrop Grumman IT is the developer of Tracking Analyst and Tracking Server, and offers customization and integration of these systems into geospatial information system applications. Tracking Analyst is a software desktop tool for visualizing, displaying and analyzing temporal data. The Tracking Server application collects multiple data feeds and transmits real-time, event-based information to Web clients, customer applications and Tracking Analyst for in-depth analysis.

Northrop Grumman IT will also feature the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's Commercial Joint Mapping Toolkit, a comprehensive toolkit of software components for the management, analysis and visualization of map and map-related information. The toolkit integrates government and industry capabilities into a common, long-term solution that advances mission application development into interoperable systems for the warfighter.

Northrop Grumman IT will display advanced tactical systems for the U.S. Army's Combat Terrain Information Systems program, which provides Army commanders with essential information through automated terrain analysis and graphics reproduction. The program also allows the warfighter to maintain terrain information superiority through terrain-based tactical decision aides, data-dissemination and data-management capabilities in two-dimensional and three-dimensional working environments.

Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector will introduce a new TouchTable(TM), a 45-inch model of the seven-foot diagonal table first shown at ESRI last year. The system has a touch-sensitive screen that allows users to view and manipulate complex data and high-resolution digital imagery, such as geographic information, that cannot readily be represented on a standard computer display. TouchTable was developed by Applied Minds Inc. and uses ESRI's ArcGlobe software.

The Mission Systems sector will also introduce the TerrainTable(TM), a topographic modeling tool that works through a connector to the TouchTable. Using an array of vertical pins beneath a silicone skin and an overhead projector, the table accurately and realistically creates the curved surfaces of mountain ranges and valleys. This "electronic sand table" replicates a very convincing topographical map.

The exhibit will include the company's situational awareness solution, GeoWireless Solution, for homeland security and defense organizations. GeoWireless Solution enhances situational awareness through a geospatial foundation and a wireless communications infrastructure. This application shares geographic data seamlessly between multiple government agencies and first responders for informed decision making and improved situational awareness and readiness.
