Heart Attack: Up Close and Personal -- A New Comprehensive Guide to Understanding, Preventing, and Treating Heart Attack

TENAFLY, N.J., Aug. 3, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Responsible for over 750,000 deaths per year, heart attack is the number one cause of fatality in the United States. Anyone can be at risk for a heart attack. In Dr. Jacob I. Haft's comprehensive new book, The Quick and Easy Heart Book, learn everything you need to know about this deadly disease and arm yourself and your loved ones with information to help prevent and deal with heart problems.

In The Quick and Easy Heart Book, Dr. Haft distills the medical advice and explanations he has been giving his heart patients for over two decades in a concise and straightforward text. In addition to describing how the heart works and how and why heart attacks occur, he offers useful pointers on returning to work, to sex, and to life after a heart attack and how to avoid another one. Among other important topics, he offers sound and easy-to-follow advice on low-cholesterol diets, effective weight loss, lower salt intake, and treatment of hypertension. At the end of the book there is an extensive glossary that aids in better understanding the terms used in cardiology.

"Understanding and knowledge builds confidence in your ability to share and participate in the treatment strategies prescribed by your physician to ensure recovery and maintenance of good heart health. You will also understand what happened and be able to deal with the event in a more rational manner," says Dr. Haft. By taking to heart his advice found in the pages of The Quick and Easy Heart Book, a must-have medical resource, you have the power to prevent a heart attack and an access to healthy living.
