Wisconsin State Fair Park Selects VisionPoint and is Ready to Say, 'Glad I Could Help'

DES MOINES, Iowa, Aug. 4, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- VisionPoint, an industry leader in development of video-based training solutions, has partnered with the Wisconsin State Fair Park (WSFP) for the third year to deliver customer service training to Fair full- and part-time staff and volunteers.

The Wisconsin State Fair Park has always been recognized for its customer friendly attitude, yet management felt that there was room for improvement and more consistent departmental approach. As stated by Mary Beth Carr, Special Project Director and Customer Service Coordinator for WSFP, "Sue Mueller, VisionPoint's Training Solutions Manager, has helped us to create a consistent approach to customer service training and we wanted to take it one step further by developing internal trainers to teach on a year round basis from the customer's perspective." VisionPoint's Glad I Could Help program was customized and incorporated into the Fair Park's employee training.

According to Andy Schmidt, Event Services Manager for the WSFP, he admits that, "customer service has always been a focus. I know that our people are the first and last to leave an impression with each and every Fair Park guest. That's why I firmly believe that 'Customer Service is our Job Number One.'"

So during a recent training initiative for a team of seasonal fair employees, Hamilton McClymont, Fair Manager, shared that, "Customer Service is one of the most important things. It makes us stronger in the market place, stronger than anything else we do. We can have the best buildings, the most animals, tastiest food and a great variety of entertainment, but if we don't start out right at the gate with a smile on our faces, then we haven't done our job. And if we work hard, believe in what we do and end each customer interaction with a sincere Glad I Could Help, then that is icing on the cake for our guests."

Wisconsin State Fair Park is busy year round with consumer festivals and events, trade shows, auto racing and a variety of agricultural shows. The Wisconsin State Fair, the Park's signature event draws nearly a million people during its 11-day event. Starting on August 4th and running through August 14th, the organization adds an additional 1000 plus employees to service the large crowd.
