STOXX, Ltd. Changes the Composition of the European Benchmark Indexes

Third Regular Quarterly Review to be Effective on September 19, 2005


ZURICH, Aug. 16, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- STOXX, Ltd. today announced changes in the composition of the Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 Index, the Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index, the Dow Jones STOXX 600 Index and its sector indexes, the Dow Jones EU Enlarged Total Market Index and the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index.

Effective with the open of European markets on September 19, 2005, the following six stocks will be added to the Dow Jones STOXX 600 and its respective size and sector indexes: GAZ DE FRANCE (France, Utilities), PARTYGAMING (Great Britain, Travel & Leisure), INMARSAT (Great Britain, Telecommunications), LUNDIN PETROLEUM (Sweden, Oil & Gas), C&C GROUP (Ireland, Food & Beverage) and STORK (Netherlands, Industrial Goods & Services).

Companies exiting the index are: HENDERSON GROUP (Great Britain, Financial Services), COOKSON GROUP (Great Britain, Industrial Goods & Services), DAIRY CREST GROUP (Great Britain, Food & Beverage), AMLIN (Great Britain, Insurance), OMX AB (Sweden, Financial Services) and M-REAL-B (Finland, Basic Resources).

The market sectors for the following Dow Jones STOXX 600 components will change: THOMSON (France) from Personal & Household Goods to Media, SAFRAN (France) from Technology to Industrial Goods & Services, JULIUS BAER N (Switzerland) from Banks to Financial Services, INVESTEC (Great Britain) from Banks to Financial Services, CLOSE BROTHERS GROUP (Great Britain) from Banks to Financial Services, TRELLEBORG AB B (Sweden) from Automobiles & Parts to Industrial Goods & Services.

As of July 29, 2005 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX 600 increased from E5495.81 billion to E5504.26 billion, of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index from E5859.63 billion to E5883.14 billion and the reconstituted Dow STOXX Football Index remained E708.35 million.

The Dow Jones STOXX Football Index will remain unchanged.

The Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 and the Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index are also part of this regular quarterly review. The new composition of the indexes can be found at http://www.stoxx.com/info/reports/reviews2005.html

As of July 29, 2005 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 index increased from E18078.73 billion to E18115.45 billion, and of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index decreased from E59.53 billion to E59.05 billion.

Changes are being announced today after the conclusion of a regular quarterly component review. The adjusted component weightings, including the number of shares and free-float factors, will be announced on September 14, 2005 after close of European markets. All changes will be effective on September 19, 2005.
