Photo Release -- Katzkin Announces Three Big Packages for the Big Three

MONTEBELLO, Calif., Aug. 16, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Katzkin unveils custom restyling packages for Ford, GM and DaimlerChrysler: "Stang" for the 2005/2006 Mustang, "Appalachian" for the 2005/2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a special package for the new 2006 Hummer H3. Each includes offerings restylers nationwide have come to expect from the industry leader in aftermarket leather interiors.

The Stang package is the most appearance-enhancing of the three, offering a sporty seat design with Stang embroidery, exterior graphics, a brushed nickel dash, side window louvers and a chrome exterior badge. Katzkin's Hummer H3 package includes an Audiovox DVD Headrest Entertainment System, custom leather seats with a striking H3 logo embroidered in flames, and a chrome dashboard badge. The Appalachian Edition comes complete with Appalachian embroidery on a unique two-tone seat, a set of four floor mats also with Appalachian embroidery, and a pair of chrome exterior badges.

"This is an exciting opportunity for Katzkin to represent the Big Three, while emphasizing our strength in the area of specialty packaging," says Director of Marketing Miles Hubbard. "We expect all three packages to thrive in the marketplace."

All three vehicles are favorites among consumers, which gives Katzkin an encouraging outlook for the success of these packages. The scaled-down H3, for example, represents a new breed in the Hummer line-up, making it a player in the midsize SUV segment, which accounts for 1.7 million sales annually. Production of the H3 will be nearly double the production of its H1 and H2 predecessors combined, providing many opportunities for interior upgrades.

Of course, Mustang continues to be a big hit among consumers, especially with the recent unveiling of the much-anticipated convertible. Meanwhile, the Grand Cherokee continues a long tradition of success, not only in the aftermarket leather interior industry, but in the SUV market as well, with a new, more powerful V-8 engine and a smoother ride than previous models.

Founded in 1983 by Mitchell Katz, Katzkin Leather Interiors Inc. of Montebello, CA is the premier manufacturer of automotive leather interiors for the aftermarket. With the only nationwide installer base featuring over 2,500 restyling locations, Katzkin has created over 700,000 exciting vehicles in the past 23 years.
