LTU Celebrating 50 Years of Service in 2005

MIAMI, Aug. 22, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- LTU International Airways, one of Germany's leading airlines, is celebrating its golden anniversary in 2005. On September 4, 2005 LTU will host a huge celebration in Duesseldorf, Germany, LTU's hub in the beautiful North-Rhine Westpahlia region of Germany.

The event will take place in Hangar 8, spread over a quarter of an acre at the Duesseldorf airport. Planned festivities include interactive games and attractions for children along with their parents, friends and special guests. Attendees will catch a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes at an airline as guests will have the opportunity to go on board LTU's newest Airbus 330-200 as well as one of LTU's first airplanes, the DeHavilland Dove. Many more surprises and activities are in store for all the attendees as LTU's touristic partners, ITS, Jahn-Reisen, Tjaereborg, as well as Coca-Cola, Walt Disney and Playmobil participate in this fun-filled and exciting event.

In recognition of LTU's 50th year in operation, New York was added in 2005 in an effort to expand its North American route structure. LTU currently services Ft. Myers, Orlando and Miami in Florida, Los Angeles, California and Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary in Canada. LTU's modern fleet consists of Airbus A330-300, Airbus A 320-200, Airbus A 330-200 and Airbus A 321-200, one of the youngest fleets in the air today.

LTU was founded in 1955 and serves nearly 6 million passengers each year. The airline was voted the most trusted vacation airline in Germany by Reader's Digest readers in 2003 and also received an "A" for its family-friendly service in the June 2004 edition of Oko Test, a German magazine that tests products and services. In 2004 readers of a German golfers' magazine voted LTU their favorite vacation airline, and in 2003 LTU was recognized as the airline of choice among divers. LTU was also recently awarded the five star diamond award in recognition for outstanding service and finest quality by the American Academy of Hospitality Services, who have been giving out this award since 1989 to organizations such as airlines, restaurants, hotels, wineries and chefs from around the world.

LTU continues to be a leader in German aviation and looks to continue to serve the North American market for many years to come.
