The Storage Management Initiative Specification, commonly referred to as SMI-S, is a standards effort spawned by the SNIA to help simplify the management framework within storage area networking environments. The Emulex HBA Provider is the industry-standard layer for delivering SMI-S compliant solutions, which allow customers to closely monitor and manage Emulex HBAs from within the SMI-S-based HP SIM 5.0 application stack. This capability is supported across the market-leading family of LightPulse Fibre Channel HBAs, including its generally available 4Gb/s PCI-X and PCI Express and the 2Gb/s LP10000 family of HBAs.
