Northrop Grumman Provides Assistance to Employees and Other Victims of Hurricane Katrina

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 31, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- In response to the mounting damages caused by Hurricane Katrina, Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) will contribute an initial $2 million for relief assistance. This contribution is based on the current needs assessment and will support the company's Gulf Coast employees through a relief fund established specifically for this purpose. Local communities will receive support from the company through a contribution to the American Red Cross.

Direct assistance to employees impacted by Hurricane Katrina will be provided through the new Northrop Grumman Employee Disaster Relief Fund, established by The Northrop Grumman Foundation. Northrop Grumman will match, dollar for dollar, employee contributions to the fund.

"The thoughts and prayers of Northrop Grumman and its employees are with everyone impacted by this devastating natural disaster," said Ronald D. Sugar, Northrop Grumman's chairman, chief executive officer and president. "We will continue to do everything in our power to ensure the comfort and well-being of our employees in the region and also assist their neighbors."

In addition to immediate monetary assistance, resources are being tapped across the company to help employees and operations in the Gulf Coast region. Several sectors are working to deliver food and necessary supplies, vehicles, temporary office trailers, generators, compressors and other equipment. Employees residing outside the Gulf Coast are traveling to the region to provide communications equipment and expertise to restore the company's information technology and telecommunications infrastructure. Company aircraft have been pressed into service.
