Media Advisory -- Sept. 1 Update on Northrop Grumman Employee Payroll Instructions and Work Schedules in Gulf Region

PASCAGOULA, Miss., Sept. 1, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman announces the following employee payroll instructions and work schedule updates for its employees in the Gulf Coast region.

Northrop Grumman Employee Payroll Instructions

Northrop Grumman Ship Systems is attempting to ensure its regional workforce receives its usual pay by tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 2, 2005. All Northrop Grumman Ship Systems personnel picking up pay checks will be required to provide proper identification, such as Northrop Grumman Ship Systems badge, government-issued picture ID, or Social Security number, in order to pick up their checks.



     --  All Ship Systems personnel who receive payroll by direct
         deposit (75 percent of the sector workforce) will have their
         pay deposited directly into their designated payroll accounts
         Friday, Sept. 2.

     --  Pascagoula personnel who receive a live pay check (meaning
         not direct-deposit) should go to the Engineering Design
         Center (former K-Mart) parking lot between 10 a.m. and
         12 p.m. (noon) Friday, Sept. 2, to receive their checks.

     --  Gulfport personnel who receive a live pay check (meaning not
         direct-deposit) should go to the security gate between
         10 a.m. and 12 p.m. (noon) Friday, Sept. 2, to receive their
         checks.

     --  For New Orleans personnel who receive a live pay check
         (meaning not direct-deposit), specific locations and
         distribution times will be announced at a later time.

Hancock Bank branches and Wal-Mart stores have offered to cash all payroll checks for Northrop Grumman Ship Systems employees.

Operational branches of Hancock Bank will be able to accommodate our employees. These Hancock Bank branches will be open Friday, Sept. 2, Saturday, Sept. 3 and also on Sunday Sept. 4 and Monday Sept. 5 (Labor Day) from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.:



     --  Triangle Branch -- 3611 Danny, Pascagoula.
     --  Ocean Springs Main -- 901 Washington Ave, Ocean Springs.
     --  Cedar Lake -- 926 Cedar Lake, Biloxi.
     --  Pols Ferry -- 2369 Pass Rd, Biloxi.
     --  Cowen Road Branch -- 1014 Cowen Road, Gulfport.
     --  Crossroads -- 10496 Highway 49 (Hwy 49, I-10 Intersection),
         Gulfport.
     --  Diamond Head Branch -- 4401 Kalani Dr, Diamond Head.
     --  Petal Branch -- 535 Hwy 42, Petal.
     --  Hwy 98 Branch -- 6052 Hwy 98, Hattiesburg.
     --  Purvis Main Office -- 144 Shelby Street Dr., Purvis, Miss.

Operational area Wal-Mart stores will also cash Northrop Grumman Ship Systems employee checks. The procedures for check cashing at Wal-Mart are:



     1.  Must be a preprinted payroll check
     2.  Must have a state-issued ID
     3.  Wal-Mart's limit is $1,000 per employee in a seven day period
         and employees will have to pay a $3 service fee to Wal-Mart

Work Schedule Information

PASCAGOULA / GULFPORT:



     --  Both facilities will be closed on Friday, Sept. 2.

     --  For Gulfport, all maintenance personnel should report for a
         7 a.m. to 6 p.m. shift.

     --  For Pascagoula, all facilities engineering, maintenance,
         security, test and change-order electricians, test and
         trials, safety, production supervisors, crafts supervisors,
         manufacturing services, resource recovery, yard cleaning,
         production supervision, ship management, inside and outside
         machinists, facilities and ship cleaners, carpenters,
         rigging, production control, and transportation shift
         employees should report to work if possible for a 7 a.m. to
         6 p.m. shift.  All engineering management should report for
         work to the Engineering Design Center in Pascagoula at 8 a.m.
         on Friday, Sept. 2.

     --  Personnel who can report to work should bring their own food
         and potable water if feasible as shortages currently exist.

     --  Access to the area may be restricted by regional authorities.
         Reporting personnel should ascertain prior to departure
         whether the facilities will be accessible.

     --  An updated announcement will be made on Friday, Sept. 2 about
         work schedules for the following week after more complete
         assessments are made of the operational status and material
         condition of the facilities in Pascagoula and Gulfport.

NEW ORLEANS / TALLULAH:



     --  Both facilities will be closed on Friday, Sept. 2.

     --  All maintenance and security shift personnel should report to
         work if possible.

     --  Personnel who can report to work should bring their own food
         and potable water if feasible as shortages currently exist.

     --  Access to the area may be restricted by regional authorities.
         Reporting personnel should ascertain prior to departure
         whether the facilities will be accessible.

     --  An updated announcement will be made on Friday, Sept. 2 about
         work schedules for the following week after more complete
         assessments are made of the operational status and material
         condition of the facilities in New Orleans/Talluluh.

Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems Sector Facilities

Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems sector locations in Harvey, La.; Mobile, Ala.; and Ocean Springs, Miss., will be closed on Friday, Sept. 2.

Employees who have not checked in with their supervisors should do so immediately or contact the Northrop Grumman Information Line at (800) 995-4318 for further instructions.
