Ground-breaking Ceremony for the First Wyland Boutique Hotel Scheduled for Noon Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005 in Waikiki

 WHAT

 A ground-breaking ceremony for the first Wyland themed hotel in the
 world, the Wyland Waikiki. The event, hosted by developer Diamond
 Hotels and Resorts, will launch the complete transformation of the
 former Ohana Waikiki Surf with a spectacular motif inspired by World
 renowned marine life artist Wyland. The newly renovated hotel is
 scheduled to open in January 2006.

 Noon Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005

 WHERE

 At noon, the ground-breaking ceremony will be held at the lobby
 entrance of the hotel at 2200 Kuhio Avenue between Lewers Street and
 Royal Hawaiian Avenue.

 WHO

 Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann will join Wyland, the project
 developer,and local dignitaries for the groundbreaking ceremony.
 Best known for his massive Whaling Wall murals, acclaimed marine life
 artist Wyland has achieved international recognition for his
 paintings, sculpture,fine art photography, and non-profit work for
 conservation awareness.His Wyland Galleries have been among Hawaii's
 most successful family of art galleries.

 DETAILS

 The new Wyland Waikiki will be the first themed boutique hotel in the
 world to offer an immersive Wyland-inspired ocean experience. The
 404-room hotel will be integrated with unique ocean and reef color
 schemes, patterns, and multi-Million Dollar art collection throughout
 its guest rooms, elevators, entrance, lobby, and corridors, including
 signed limited edition Wyland art in each room. Plans are underway
 for additional Wyland themed boutique hotels throughout the nation
 and selected cities worldwide. "Each floor is themed with Hawaiian
 marine life to mirror the beauty of the islands and give guests a
 sense of classic island style," Wyland said. "Every aspect of the
 hotel will be filled with art, music, and a sense of serenity."
