Achieving Spiritual Sanity -- Author Helps Readers Find Their Place in the Universe

BETHESDA, Md., Sept. 7, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Many people manage to find a path toward material success, but most remain unable to achieve true spiritual meaning or satisfaction in life, according to Terrence Schomburg, Ph.D. His new book, "Achieving Spiritual Sanity: Finding a Path to a Meaningful Life in the Modern World" (now available through AuthorHouse), provides readers with a guide toward true meaning and a spiritual purpose in this lifetime.

In the hopes of alleviating some of the feelings of confusion and anxiety that "this greed-based society" triggers as early as childhood, Schomburg offers "Achieving Spiritual Sanity." The book gives the reader the "unique opportunity to become clearly focused on the present." Schomburg begins with the importance of using the "mind's eye" to see "just what is going on in the modern world." Through his explanations, readers get a clearer picture of their place in the grand expanse of the universe.

"There is ample evidence that we live in a world gone mildly insane, including spiritually, as well as socially, politically, and economically, and I have outlined the essence of how and why we are where we are now at the start of the 21st century," Schomburg says.

In his writing, he provides readers with insights that can bring meaning and hope in "finding one's true place in the universe." With his 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist and student of metaphysics, he confronts the nature of human existence while providing spiritually enriching information on new insights into the afterlife and humanity's purpose for being born. Citing the amazing work of spiritual regressionist Michael Newton, among others, Schomburg brings clarity and insight regarding the new levels of understanding "that are now available to us all as we continue our quest for answers to the ultimate questions of who and what we are, and why we are here." He brings an intellectual discussion that mines the depths of the human condition.

"There is much to be learned from reading this thoughtful book, including some simple lessons for finding a path that is both spiritual and rational, based on a personal value system one can truly live by. You may be rather surprised by reading this book," Schomburg says. "It might even change your life."

Born in Tacoma, Wash., he grew up with loving parents and three siblings. Their lives "were greatly enriched by enjoying" their summer cabin in the shadow of Mount Rainier. He attended universities in three states before earning his doctorate at The American University in Washington, D.C. He has worked in a variety of clinical settings and also served as a member of the board of directors of the International Association for Near Death Studies (IANDS). "Achieving Spiritual Sanity" is his first book.
