CHICAGO, Sept. 9, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- PRINT'05 -- XMPie(r) and Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX) announced they will expand the integration between XMPie PersonalEffect(tm) 2.5 and the Xerox FreeFlow(tm) Digital Workflow Collection. The enhancements, unveiled today at PRINT '05, provide XMPie customers a streamlined production workflow of variable digital print projects and automated access to prepress and printing management options offered by Xerox FreeFlow production tools.
XMPie software products are featured in the Personalizing for Profit and Agency and Design Services zones in the Xerox booth number 1228.
Key enhancements to the Xerox FreeFlow integration include:
1. Broad VI Container support: PersonalEffect 2.5 now supports
FreeFlow VI Containers for PPML, PS, PDF, and VIPP print
formats, automatically packaging VI streams with all resources
(such as images and files) for an efficient, streamlined
production.
2. JDF generation: XMPie customers can now leverage JDF compliant
FreeFlow components. From within PersonalEffect's production
dashboard (uProduce(tm)) XMPie users may now specify JDF
production parameters, which will be submitted as a JDF ticket
accompanying the print job. These parameters may include, for
example, customer information for billing and tracking
purposes, finishing information, and file URIs.
3. Direct VDP job submission to Process Manager, Output Manager,
and Print Manager: XMPie users can now submit optimized
postscript or PDF jobs directly from uProduce to the FreeFlow
core management products. This unique integration provides
valuable simplification in the workflow management of the print
shop, and improves the printer's overall workflow control. For
the first time, customers of XMPie and Xerox have an integrated
workflow for VDP, from document creation to final production.
4. FreeFlow Application Launching: Personal Effect 2.5
integration enhancements include the ability to launch FreeFlow
Print Manager and FreeFlow Output Manager client software
directly from within XMPie's production dashboard
(uProduce(r)). This unique enhancement provides XMPie users
immediate access to all supported digital printers and
productions systems from a single XMPie interface and a more
effective way to manage their digital print process by
leveraging a unified interface.
