The Long Journey Home -- New Civil War Book Tells a Story of Human Development and the Struggle for New Life

TUCSON, Ariz., Sept. 12, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- No matter how strong a person's passion can be, an armed conflict filled with danger is still too much to endure. And by the time the war ends, people eventually forget what the struggle was all about while some people simply want to move on with their lives rather than risking it all. In the continuing saga of author Hughlett L. Morris' Civil War epic, readers can immerse themselves through time with the new book Luther's Women: A Sequel To Luther's War.

In Luther's War, Luther recalls his youth and the time he struggled as a Confederate soldier. For three years, he reluctantly fought the enemy and strived hard, helping allies until one day he was wounded and suffered a grave sickness that almost took his life. Luther's Women tells the continuing story of Luther, who quit the war and started going back to where he came from. Unable to accept enduring a life of killing and long-lasting tragedy, Luther decides to leave the Confederate Army, hoping to ensure his personal survival and gain a better life.

Battle-scarred and demoralized, Luther learns that reorganizing and normalizing his life is just as difficult as fighting a war. Along the way, he visits many places and meets a lot of people. He encounters several women, and for the first time in his life, he discovers love, beauty, and freedom, which he never really had early in his life. With each lady, he learns a lot of lessons relating to love and humanity. Luther's personal journey to maturity becomes complete as he gains a new look at life, people, and priorities. For hundreds of miles, Luther traveled on, going home to Stewart County, Tennessee, and upon arrival, his heart is struck by personal shock when he encounters his mother, who abandoned him when he was a child. Adding more complications to his recovering life is Narcissa, the woman he once loved. Luther suddenly finds himself at a crossroad and realizes that he has to heal past relationships in order to start a new and normal life.

Richly layered and historically moving, Luther's Women: A Sequel To Luther's War is a deeply moving novel that will attract a lot of readers to its side. While the first book focused on Luther's early life and war effort, this sequel brings to readers an even deeper look at Luther's character as he struggles to mature, find love, and reorganize his life. With its compelling plot, deep character development and a great cast of characters, Luther's Women: A Sequel To Luther's War is a smashing Civil War book to get at libraries and bookstores today!
